Elisa was a ten year old girl. Her father worked with Forest Department. Her family had recently shifted to a house near the forest. Her mother told Elisa, “You can go out to play while I put away the things. But remember to come before lunch.” “OK mom, Bye”, replied Elisa as she skipped away to the forest. In the forest she saw some strange footprints. She followed them out of curiosity. Too late she realized that she had strayed too deep into the woods. She cried because she couldn’t find her way out. Suddenly she saw a house. As she went inside the house, she saw some beautiful wall carvings. There was no one in the house. Spiders were weaving their webs in the corners of the dull walls. She climbed the stairs and found ancient drawings of a strong man and a beautiful woman, which she thought looked familiar but couldn’t remember. She couldn’t understand why but she felt that she had seen this place before. She saw a large mirror which was surprisingly very clean. As she went closer to the mirror, she could hear birds chirping. She looked out of the window but there were no birds. As she looked into the mirror, she couldn’t see herself but instead of a dirty and gloomy room she saw a clean, colourful, bright room and the chirping sound grew louder. As her fingers touched the mirror, she felt a cold, wet surface. Amazed, she came closer and passed through it as if it were a sheet of water. She found a thick book lying in front of her written in some ancient language which she easily read. Surprised at herself, she continued reading. It said, “People who shall enter the Mirror World cannot exit it until they see Grimmr and Cypathia.” Grimmr was a powerful ancient alien who fell in love with Cypathia - a human being. So he built a whole new universe for her. Known as the Mirror World, it had everything opposite compared to the real world. Elisa couldn’t read further because the last two pages were blank. She was shaking with fear as she tried to leave the place. But she came out of the mirror as easily as she had gone through it. She found herself in front of her house with the book in her hand. She had been gone for only one hour. The blank pages of the book were also filled up. The last line said, “…. Time moves very fast in the mirror world. The Forest leads only people of space to the hut, which is the entrance of Mirror World.” On the next page there was a drawing of Grimmr and Cypathia. They looked a lot like Elisa’s parents. Her father came back from his work just then and was surprised to see the book in her hands. Elisa asked her father, “Tell me dad!!! Who are you?” He showed some reluctance, but finally revealed his mystical form (that any mortal who should lay his eyes upon be disintegrated on the spot). Elisa was no exception.
